| Paper
Men Hold Hands Papermen Hold Hands aimed to create an innovative, challenging piece of youth theatre written specifically for the young people involved around relevant ideas and issues. Young writer, Lee Mattinson wove a tale that questioned the rights of an individual to overthrow our genetically determined destiny, and the rights of a parent to go further than to dream of what their child might be. Papermen reflected the simplicity of a fairy story; on one hand magical, whilst on the other dark and unforgiving. The only monster here is the one in mother’s clothing; taking the concept of genetic cloning to the extreme and overplaying every time your mother asked you to, ‘sit up straight,’ or eat ‘just one more’ mouthful of your tea’. |
